Microsoft has greatly improved MapPoint! The release 2002 is one of the most complete corporate mapping software programs that offers a bunch of powerful features. MapPoint 2002 is much more pleasant to use thanks to the new Office look and feel. The feature reward goes to the Smart Tags that really rock! Having the ability to view the map of a location simply by typing an address in Word or Outlook is unbelievable. There are some drawbacks being the inaccuracy of some maps and of the Drive Time Zone as well as the restricted features offered by the European edition (for instance there’s no road update feature nor speed limit indicators & turn restrictions as there is in the US version). All in all Microsoft MapPoint 2002 is a winner thanks to its unrivalled integration with Office XP as well as the new automation model that’ll help developers build high end programs using the mapping features of MapPoint 2002.
