12: Conclusion

No other game at the moment comes close to the advanced technology seen in Doom 3, although Far Cry looks better in my eyes! I ran the game in High Detail on both the 3000 and the 3800 processors using the same graphics card and setup - ATI X850 XT. From the looks of it the game is basically using up the graphics card with less processing power used up expect as the resolution gets cranked up. It was good to see the game was still playable even at 1600x1200 at high detail on the 4000 Processor although there was some stuttering in real-time gameplay. The two tests were run twice as the game benchmark makes use of some caching which means stuttering shows up a lot the first time you run it.
