Final
Results and Overall Mark
Well we have reached the end of the
preview. Here are my final comments and notes for Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Release Candidate 1 (RC1).
Final
Comments
Well, that’s all for
now. As you can see, XP has some amazing new features that are sure to
lure any IT person to it. Now, I had done a review on Whistler server Beta
2 a while back and some of these functions appear to be available on
Server. We will definitely see some of these features on a larger scale
when .Net server debuts. For example, the Files and Settings Transfer
Wizard is scaled up on the server level with the User State Migration
Tool. This tool will be discussed more when I can actually use it.
Hopefully someone at Microsoft can help me with access to Server. I would
really like to see the extent that Microsoft is going to support these
enhancements in .Net Server. What if Microsoft were to extend the
capabilities of Remote Desktops from Whistler Beta 2 to allow Remote
Assistance for all of your clients? The possibilities are endless. Now we
can see a hint of the future of Microsoft and .Net. So pay attention and
enjoy the future. Don’t get left behind.
