One take away from Microsoft's announcements Wednesday evening at the Consumer Electronics Show: The deteriorating economy has not put a dent in Microsoft's plans to spend heavily to push its Live search business.
While Google might have more market share in search, Microsoft's pocketbook goes unmatched.
In both of the big deals Microsoft announced -- to put Live Search on Dell computers and on Verizon phones -- Microsoft was willing to pay out cash that its online rival apparently was not.
