In an interview at the Professional Developers Conference last month, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for Windows product management Mike Nash said that Windows 7 would be a boon to developers.
Developers can take advantage of technologies that ship with Windows 7, he explained, such as the "Ribbon" user interface that Microsoft is implementing to change the look and feel of native Windows applications.
The Windows 7 “Superbar” taskbar provides new functionality to launch and switch among applications and documents; applications may be pinned to the taskbar, and they indicate when they have been loaded.
