Install Windows Upgrade Without Existing Version
Most of us already know that we don't need an upgrade version to have a full Windows installation. In fact, the upgrade CD-ROM has everything in the full version CD. But it is always such a pain install Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 first. We don't have to go through a tedious setup and repeat it for Windows 98. After all, they keep replacing the files.
The best way to avoid this is to create a directory called NTLDR. In this case, you are at the dos prompt type:
c:\>dir>ntldr
This will trick the Windows 98 setup in thinking that Windows NT exists. Setup will run happily.
