Introduction

Every Internet user is aware that its Internet connection is a potential risk source: an Internet connection is an open door for hackers. Symantec has recently released Norton Internet Security 2001 that comes with Norton AntiVirus 2001 and is aimed to protect your internet connection against every kind of threat: hackers, cyberthiefs, malicious ActiveX or Java code, and cookies. With the release of Microsoft Windows Me previous versions of Norton Internet Security don’t work at all, so this version of Norton Internet Security 2001 is now fully compliant with Windows Me and even Windows 2000. The plus feature of the Family Edition is its ability to protect users’ children by blocking inappropriate websites. So here’s my complete review of this great product.

Setup

After inserting the NIS 2001 CD an auto play box appears, a click on the install button launches the setup, which is built on the Microsoft Windows Installer technology. Setup takes only five minutes to complete and one reboot later you’re a protected Internet surfer! If you haven’t already installed on your system Norton AntiVirus 2001 you can install it right now: the setup of Norton AntiVirus 2001 is however much longer.
