Installation is the easiest yet that I have dealt with for a server
product. As far as stability is concerned I have had no problems whatsoever
with SharePoint flaking out or something screwy going on. It just works®.
Integration with Office XP is great and really adds value to your investment
of Office Technologies. Recoverability for SharePoint gets a C. I have
never like recovering FrontPage webs and SharePoint complicates the matter
even more. You won’t be able to change the hierarchy of your webs once you
set them up the first time. In other words if you have subwebs that utilize
Team Services you won’t be able to move them to a different directory or the
root level. Just something to keep in mind to make sure you do it the way
you want it the first time. Otherwise it’s just easier to scratch the web
and start anew. For the price of FrontPage Team Services is definitely a
bargain. Overall I give it an A. Team Services is featured packed and I am
very impressed with the product as this is just a 1.0 release (and people
say Microsoft can’t get it right on the first try). It will be very
exciting to see how this product matures over time.
