Well we have reached the end of the preview. Here are my final comments and notes for Visual Studio 2005 Codename "Whidbey" Enterprise Developer Edition Alpha

Final Comments

Visual Studio 2005 is a major upgrade; it takes .NET development to a higher level. Although this build, which is an alpha build, is somewhat unstable I was able to develop and debug complex projects and to migrate seamlessly and successfully. I was a disappointed by the fact that Microsoft chose to remove the ObjectSpaces Architecture (a layer between application logic and a data source) and add it to WinFS, leaving us without a persistence framework again. However I think that the new advancements in application management and deployment with DSI and ClickOnce make it worth trying.
