EU probes Microsoft's licences

The European Commission said on Thursday it had asked computer hardware makers for details of their licensing arrangements with Microsoft as part of its probe into anti-competitive practices at the software firm. Computer makers are heavily dependant on Microsoft Corp for software updates which are provided on a weekly or semi-weekly basis.
