Microsoft launches Chinese XP | |

Microsoft Taiwan Corp. yesterday officially launched the Chinese version of Windows XP, the new operating system that took the software giant six years to develop and promises more convenience, stability and multimedia functions for businesses and home users. The launch ceremony, which took place a few days after the Oct. 26 U.S. release, was attended by 23 Taiwan hardware and software companies, whose products ¡X ranging from PCs to digital cameras ¡X are now compatible with Windows XP, which stands for "experience." "It establishes a new standard that allows computers to work more smoothly and efficiently and provides businesses and home users an enhanced working platform," said Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft Corporation, via videotape. | ||
