Here is the full letter we received earlier.

  • Microsoft will upgrade all STS 2.0 hosted sites from Beta 1 to Beta 2 , beginning February 26th. Your SharePoint Team Services hosted site will be unavailable between: February 26th and March 4th.
  • We expect to have sites back online: March 5th
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: All users who have documents checked out need to check them back in before the upgrade which begins 8:00 a.m. PST February 26th. Any documents not checked back in will be reverted back to their state prior to being checked out. This is necessary to upgrade from Beta 1 to Beta 2.
  • In file names and site names, all instances of the character "~" will be replaced with "@," and the character "&" will be replaced with a "$"
  • If you have used FrontPage 11 to edit your site, you will need to upgrade to the FrontPage 11 Beta 2 version to work properly with STS 2.0 Beta 2.
  • - Submit questions to the SharePoint newsgroup (beta.microsoft.o11iep.sharepoint or beta.microsoft.o11oep.sharepoint) if you have any problems with your hosted sites after the scheduled upgrade or for any other SharePoint issues (other than the list of known issues above)
