Introduction

PowerQuest the well known maker of Partition Magic has just released the new version 6.0 of its outstanding partitioning tool that now fully supports Windows Me and Windows 2000. This software that will advantageously replace the usual FDISK is a must have for every power user and has proved its unbelievable effectiveness over the previous versions. This new version adds tons of new features that really makes it worth while. Let's have a look to the new features of Partition Magic 6.0 below:

• Split Partitions - Ability to split an existing FAT or FAT 32 partition into two partitions and designate Root folders and files to be moved into the new partition.
• Undelete Partitions - Restore partitions that have been deleted on disk if they have not already been overwritten.
• Windows Tree and Multiple Disk View - Familiar Windows-like interface provides a quick view of all available disks.
• Drag and Drop - Easily copy or move partitions to another area of your disk(s).
• Password Protected - A new dialog will allow the user to save a password that must be entered before PartitionMagic can be launched.
• BootDisk Builder - (PartitionMagic Pro Only) - Creates a Remote Agent Disk so you can perform Across-The-Wire operations allowing you to access another computer on the network to perform common PartitionMagic tasks.

Setup

    Installing Partition Magic 6.0 is a breeze and the setup powered by the usual InstallShield Wizard will let you choose which components to install (PDF documentation files, DriveMapper, etc). In just a few minutes the whole thing is installed and you may reboot your PC if you want! Notice before you launch Partition Magic 6 it’s strongly recommended to close all other currently running programs in order to prevent eventual conflicts.
