Sisoft Sandra benchmarks get into deep detail, while we love running them here at ActiveWin, it does tend to cause a lot of crashes whenever we seem to run reviews based around it! Thankfully though we have got the main results we need, we have run both Processor Arithmetic and Memory Bandwidth tests to get the best from the benchmarking. The version of SiSoft Sandra we are now using is the latest 2007 edition

As you can see in the tests above, the stock 6000+ X2 processor rips through these tests and makes a good jump over the stock mid-range 5000+ X2 processor. But in saying that, none of these can compare to the excellent figures that the Intel X6800 processor has shown here.

The memory bandwidth tests really go a long to way to show how much better the AM2 does over the older socket 939 based board, AMD have done a very good job making a low latency DDR2 controller. Although this test looks very good for the AM2, its one of the few tests we have done based on both Socket 939 and the new AM2 based boards in which the AM2 comes out on top. The AM2 processor also beats out the new Intel Processor which is no real surprise when it comes down to the excellent AMD Memory Controller.
