12: Conclusion

Half Life 2 has become a great benchmark to use for 3D Performance, it also uses a lot of processing power too so it is excellent for processor reviews. For this test we ran our own benchmark of the excellent Half Life 2 Lost Coast game, this uses a lot of advanced graphical features and thus is an excellent example of what difference the processors make in the game.

As you can see, the Athlon 64 X2 6000+ flies through this test without any problems what so ever. Not only did it do really well in the benchmark, playing the game personally was great too with no slow down during the action parts. As expected, the AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 flew through the tests getting a full 20 FPS more in the benchmark compared to the 5000+ X2, the FX-62 is an excellent choice for gamers everywhere, if a little more expensive than the 6000+

Half Life 2: Episode 1 - 1024x768 No AA and No AF

Half Life 2: Episode 1 also has some more advanced features in the game just like Lost Coast did, but as Episode one is a slightly more recent release we though we would run the same tests again to see how well the processors faired.

Once again the 6000+ has shown just how well it performs here, it even manages to overtake the FX-62 in this test.
