The
Thai Supreme Court has dealt US software giant Microsoft Corp. [NASDAQ:MSFT]
a blow by overriding lower court rulings and acquitting local
personal computer (PC) vendor Atec Computer of any copyright
infringement.
The high court's verdict, reached on October
16, could set a precedent for copyright protection in Thailand
and will likely affect a similar case between the two companies
which the Criminal Court is investigating. After the victory
Atec threatened to retaliate by filing a suit against Microsoft.
The suit would seek to restore Atec's reputation, said General
Manager Nithiphat Limwanichrat.
Microsoft filed the charge against Atec with
the Intellectual Property and International Trade Court two
years ago for alleged illegal hard-drive loading of its
software, including Windows Thai Edition and Microsoft Office
95.

ActiveWin representatives also claimed that
Microsoft is adding new antivirus capabilities to Outlook

certainly add the new dynamic HTML and cascading-style-sheet
technologies to IE 6.0 that it unveiled last week as part of its

Just
one week after Microsoft admitted to a major breach of its
security, another hacker by the name of Dimitri claims to have
gained access to several of its Web servers.
Using a known security hole in M$' Internet
Information Server software - which should have been fixed with
its own patch - Dimitri hacked into the servers and uploaded a
text file called Hack the Planet. He claims to have been able to
alter files on Microsoft's download site and, if he so wished,
add Trojan horses to software. The implications are obvious.

Do
you want to protect you internet connection from hackers,
malicious treats and cyber thiefs? If so you you should read the
review I've just posted on the newly released Norton Internet
Security 2001 software. Here is a snippet of the review:
Every
Internet user is aware that its Internet connection is a potential
risk source: an Internet connection is an open door for hackers.
Symantec has recently released Norton Internet Security 2001 that
comes with Norton AntiVirus 2001 and is aimed to protect your
internet connection against every kind of threat: hackers,
cyberthiefs, malicious ActiveX or Java code, and cookies. With the
release of Microsoft Windows Me previous versions of Norton
Internet Security don’t work at all, so this version of Norton
Internet Security 2001 is now fully compliant with Windows Me and
even Windows 2000. The plus feature of the Family Edition is its
ability to protect users’ children by blocking inappropriate
websites. So here’s my complete review of this great product.

I've
just posted my indepth review of Norton SystemWorks 2001: a software
suite of the most famous utilities of the world. Check out the review
to learn how this suite can solve your PC problems. Here is a snippet
of the review:
Symantec
the worldwide leader of ‘yellow branded’ utility software has just
released a new version of its famous maintenance suite named
SystemWorks 2001. This new version contains Norton AntiVirus 2001,
Norton CleanSweep 2001, and Norton Utilities 2001. With this new
release is the full support of Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and
Windows Me: a good point to be able to use Norton tools on almost
every Windows 32bit platform. Every version of the Norton tools
has
evolved, but does this new release bring enough new features to
justify the upgrade cost? We’ll review that in detail.

Delivering on its commitment to quickly implement
the latest Extensible Markup Language (XML) standards, Microsoft Corp.
today announced the immediate availability of its newest XML parser,
MSXML3. This fully supported version is available for download from
the MSDN® developer program XML Developer Center (http://msdn.microsoft.com/xml/).
Less than three years after becoming a recommended specification of
the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), XML is being widely adopted and
is yielding dramatic benefits for customers, who are already using the
completed version of the Microsoft® parser to build and
deliver applications that maximize the capabilities of XML.
