| #1 Umm... with the exception of Hollywood movies (and some software titles) all of the other stuff you mentioned IS made in China. They're just excess stock from the same factory :) That's why the thrifty people buy direct from China rather than paying all the middlemen along the way who jack the price up 6x it's actual value. |

#3,4, actually, the problem is very broad and is as bad and worse across all of SW, central, SE and east Asia - there are no copyright laws to speak of and it is all a normal practice. The stuff is sold openly and those selling it see nothing wrong with what they are doing and assess that all the value is in the copying and packaging. IP/Content have no meaning for them.
It is as much cultural as it is anything else. |
