The group of "Windows Live" services has gotten a little smaller recently, as Microsoft trimmed down the previous list of 41 Windows Live web sites to just 27 now. Several sites formerly classified as Windows Live are now just "Live." No word yet on whether Microsoft is actually moving to clean up the Windows Live brand, or if its overhauling and trimming certain services, but the entire concept of coining a single brand title and then applying it to every piece of software or service that a company provides seems a guaranteed way to dilute the power of a brand to nothing, while simultaneously confusing the end user.
Does the phrase Windows Live actually mean anything to anyone?
