Tech and legal circles are abuzz over news of Microsoft's dispute with Adobe over the planned incorporation of PDF-saving capabilities into Office, and the prospect of an antitrust lawsuit by Adobe against Microsoft.
In the court of public opinion, Microsoft appears to have claimed an early edge by going on the offensive in the news media. (Much of the initial coverage was based on statements from the Redmond company, including its assessment that Adobe would file suit.) Some pundits are puzzled over the potential legal and technological basis for an Adobe complaint, and waiting for clarification.
