| #1: Nice commercial push there. Online backup should be a secondary backup system with local backups being the primary means of backup and recovery. I'm sure that most visitors to this site know that there is no faster way to get back to work than have a locally saved (network or external hard drive) recent drive image, in non-enterprise settings. Macrium Reflect and Acronis True Image and Echo all do a good job of getting on back to work in about an hour after a hard drive crash. |

| #2: Not to mention the FREE boot-cd of Clonezilla (http://clonezilla.org). Works VERY well and have had no issues with it at all. |

| I could just imagine backing up my 450 GB data set over the Internet. A local LAN backup took something like 18 hours. The local disk-to-disk backup I did this weekend took 7 hours. Cloud for backup? Not on your life. |

Latch: Use windows. The online backup options offer you insane amounts of options for initial backups and differentials on the net.
Anyway, Acronis + Mozy. Game over. |
