InterTrust Technologies Corporation announced today that it has initiated an action to assume ownership of key Microsoft operating system patent claims. Specifically, InterTrust contends that inventions underlying two recently issued Microsoft trusted operating system patents were originally invented by InterTrust more than three years earlier. In its filing with the U.S. Patent Office, for what is technically called an ``interference'' proceeding, InterTrust submitted extensive patent specification material demonstrating its earlier invention of the relevant patent claims.
