Microsoft reveals in an interview with Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu Xbox that the wireless controllers used in their forthcoming Xbox 360 console will in fact be using a proprietary wireless technology that they themselves have designed, for the most part. In other words, the Xbox 360 wireless tech is not quite comparable to current wireless networking standards like 802.11b/g or Bluetooth. Microsoft explains that by going with their own wireless technology for the Xbox 360 controllers, they hope to eliminate as many potential input lag issues that could emerge via wireless connection as possible. Through their efforts, they also aim to maximize wireless controller battery life.
