Two New Windows Flaws Revealed in Time for Christmas | |

Two new wide-spread and far-reaching security flaws have been identified in Windows. And not content to just identify the flaws, the Chinese “security” (and Aunty uses the term advisedly) firm, VenusTech, has also posted the code necessary to exploit the flaws. That story was picked up and posted by the Chinese security forum, Xfocus Team. | ||

#14 No matter how many times Caosity is pointed out to Parkker he's still not going to get it. It requires reading and comprehension skills, which he obviously doesn't have given that it's been mentioned to him on at least 20 different occassions, even with a nice link for him to visit.
In Parkker FUD land, we're all living in 1994, and the absolutely only way that Linux can be used is if you compile everything manually. |

Look, please skip the OSS -v Windows stuff for the moment.
Each is good and each has flaws. Let's clear some air, first.... Windows XP SP2 has only one of the three flaws - the .HLP file flaw that would likely be exploited as an email attachment - so, simply filter .hlp files in whatever point or enterprise scanners you are running, or administor. Note as well, the press is being pretty biased and not accurate - they seem to be holding out that "despite" XP SP2 that the systems are wide open.... "Bunk" Just read above and add the filter. Second, we might ding X <out of> focus for providing exploit code... "Bad Form" Lastly, hope you all had a great Christmas and that Hal will take us all on a trip to his home planet when he visits during the coming year - one I hope is filled with happiness and success for all. |
