Hewlett Packard Co has won a $27m contract to deliver a Windows-based IT infrastructure to the London Borough of Newham in the UK, completing a controversial Windows upgrade that was helped by a Linux desktop trial. Palo Alto, California-based HP has signed a 10-year deal with the UK Council to provide Windows and Exchange 2003 infrastructure services, including design and implementation, ProLiant blade servers, storage systems, desktop, laptops, and tablet PCs.
