At the March 2000 Game Developer's Conference, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates announced something that would change the face of gaming: the Xbox. We got our first look at the Xbox at the Consumer Electronics Show in January of 2001. Some games were shown, and even WWF's "The Rock" was pumped as we got our first peek at the game "WWF Raw is War." The excitement built to the Tokyo Game Show in March 2001 where Japanese developers showed their content for this American console. Microsoft recognized the importance of signing on Japanese game developers to create games for the Xbox. E3 2001 in May marked the next time the world got a look at the evolution of the console, and it was actually a bit of a disappointment.
