Once upon a time there was a small game company in Chicago. They were called
Bungie, and they created games that made people happy. Over time they attracted
a devoted following, and their games grew in size and scope. One day they
announced a new game called Halo which was unlike anything else. Unfortunately,
Halo was not done. The world waited impatiently for this new game. And then they
waited some more. And after that they waited a little longer. In the midst of
all this waiting, the company pulled up stakes and moved across the country to a
strange land where people drank a lot of coffee even when there was no snow.
One day, when Halo was almost ready, Bungie decided to throw a party
celebrating the impending release of the game. And they decided to hold the
party in the city they had called home for years: Chicago. After a long search,
lengthy negotiations, and many setbacks, they finally found a place in Chicago
where they could throw a proper party. They signed the necessary contracts and,
in a fit of glee, posted a notice to their website. And the notice read:
"Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Be thee advised that Bungie is throwing a party to
celebrate the launch of their game Halo, and YOU are invited! The party will
take place on Saturday, November 10, in the Paris Room of the
Hotel Monaco, located at 225 North
Wabash Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. The festivities begin at 7 PM and do
not end until everyone has had their share of yummy food, refreshing beverages,
and Halo. Be ye also advised that a possibility of winning a free Xbox and Halo
disc of your very own exists if you attend! Be ye there or be ye square!"
