Microsoft is keeping mum about the next version of its instant-messaging service, but 2 million copies of its "private" beta have already been downloaded, according to a company memo obtained by CNET News.com. Details of MSN Messenger version 6 surfaced a month ago when Microsoft posted images of the software and a list of features on its Web site. Version 6 incorporates more interactive perks into the message window, such as a Webcam, real-time games, audio chat and custom "emoticons." | ||

moozilla, you're entitled to your opinion on the GUI, but your comments on the webcam are way off.
You do realize there is a SMALL, MEDIUM, and LARGE setting, right? Just look for that little black triangle under the webcam pic and CHANGE SIZE. When in the large setting, the webcam shows at a full 2 inches x 2 inches and I'm running at 1024x768. 2inches square is TOO BIG. I use the MEDIUM setting myself. And at least in America, I have yet to see a "postage stamp" that size. |

| Windows Messenger isn't going anywhere (soon anyway). Version 5 is currently in beta (Beta 2 was just recently released). |

| moozilla, the webcam feature that's built in is no different than netmeeting, maybe if you took the time to look around before bashing you would have figured out that you can change the size on the indivdual webcam windows. |

| Moozilla, if you do not install MSN plug-in, Windows Messenger will launch your default email application to send emails. |
