If you ever see a Midtown Madness game in a top 50 list of all time greatest racing games, run a mile. Then run some more. Let’s be honest – it’s hardly the most inspiring series ever, is it? Nice idea – driving around a city, smashing into everything in sight – but the poor execution more than tainted the game. One word primarily springs to mind: slowdown. A horrible word, but in the case of Midtown Madness 1/2 it’s never been a more descriptive word. It doesn’t matter if you’ve got an Athlon 2GHz and the latest Ge-Force 4, there’ll still be huge slowdown.
