Unless you are hosting why would Joe Public need a static IP? and even so there are companies like TZO.com that handle resolving dynamic IPs. I guess typing IPCONFIG at the DOS prompt is too much.

| I require my sysadmins to have a static ip if doing work from home. We use a VPN, but the extra security of limiting access to a single IP is a big gain. |
