Microsoft Corp is journeying deep into the enemy heartland this week, by opening a stand at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in an attempt to snag wavering Unix users, writes Gavin Clarke. Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft will deploy 15 staff at the New York-based event in an attempt to spread the Windows mantra. The company will demonstrate four products and its gotdotnet.com online service for developers. | ||

stubear - Linux people aren't interested in UNIX. It's hard to explain, but they would gripe about ls not being color coded and silly things like that. That is, it has nothing to do with functionality, it has to do with the whole l33t syndrome.
JaggedFlame - Yeah, the fact is with Windows 2000, the only reason you reboot is if you install something. It's not because the machine has become unstable, as was the case occasionally with NT4. This post was edited by sodablue on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at 10:21. |
