I went to the Tablet PC Launch in my area, and I did like what I see. Its still in its infancy, but the pontential is there. This post was edited by rommels on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 08:42. |

Eagle ...if you think using Digital Ink with instant messenger is cool (which is supported), then wait till you enter numbers in Excel ...personally I think it is a lot easier. =)
By the way ...when you write, you can rest you hand on top of the screen just like you would normally write on a paper. The screen is electromagnetic, not pressure sensitive like PDAs. The screen will only detect the stylus movement. |

Eagle ...MS Office and Digital Ink is not fully integrated at the moment, but the functionality is there. I think the next version of Office will fully work with this technology. Also, the technology pulls information from a dictionary list. So if the word that you write is not recognizable, you have the option to add it to the dictionary ...just as dictionary works in MS Word.
Don't think of it as future of computing ...but I can see why you would think that way, but rather think of it as another means of entering data and manuvering in the Windows environment. FYI ...Microsoft has been working on this technology for 10 yrs ...and its finally here. Speech recognition is around (maybe) the corner. =) |
