When Far Cry arrived on PC in March 2004, gamers were treated to the lush textures and organic feel of a thriving tropical island that was not only beautiful, but had a very solid and unusual game to back it up. The PC version took a serious rig to make things work right. Our own Tom McNamara had to use the full power of an Alienware 3.0GHz P4 with a gigabyte of RAM and a 9800 Pro to make things right. But not everyone has access to such a fine PC (in fact most people don't), and more likely, if you're reading this site, you probably own an Xbox. Due this September on Microsoft's giant black box, Far Cry Instincts will bring console gamers a visual treat they're not quite used to, a distinct two-part game of resourcefulness and all-out guns gameplay in addition to a unique story full of twists, surprises, and intrigue. And, the litany of extras, additions, and changes specificaly tailoring the game for XBox create an experience that iin many ways might actually be better than the PC version.
