In March, Microsoft announced that the former head of Office research and development, Steven Sinofsky, was going to take the Windows/Windows Live engineering reins. On May 31, Microsoft announced its Sinofsky succession plan. Instead of appointing a single Office replacement, Microsoft Business Division chief Jeff Raikes has split the job in two. Antoine Leblond is the new head of the Office Productivity Applications group, which will be charged with Office client and shared services (Office Live, etc.). And Kurt DelBene will run the newly minted Office Business Platform group and oversee SharePoint, Groove and Project.
