With the launch of Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2005, we are expanding the Microsoft developer tools product range line to reflect the new Visual Studio Team System. Visual Studio Team System comprises a new class of extensible lifecycle tools designed to increase the predictability of software development processes, shorten the development life cycle, and to enable IT departments to deliver greater business value. With this launch MSDN®, the Microsoft Developer Network, and MSDN Subscriptions will be changing to offer existing subscribers priority access to the new Visual Studio product range.
From October 2005, qualifying* MSDN Universal subscribers will be eligible, at no additional cost, to transition to the new MSDN Premium Subscription for one of the following editions:
- Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers with MSDN Premium Subscription
- Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Architects with MSDN Premium Subscription
- Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Testers with MSDN Premium Subscription
Qualifying* MSDN Universal subscribers will automatically have access to download the release version of Visual Studio 2005 Professional edition as soon as it becomes available. Eligible subscribers that regularly receive media will also receive in the next available shipment after release, the full version of Visual Studio 2005 Professional edition and a 180 trial version of the Visual Studio 2005 Team System products to assist in making a transition choice.
