Blaze’s performance largely depends on: (1) The type of content displayed, such as animations, (2) network bandwidth and latency. As a general rule, the lower the bandwidth, the higher the latency, and the heavier the graphics – the more pronounced Blaze’s effect becomes.
Since Microsoft improved RDP performance in version 7 (the version that comes with WS08 R2) compared to previous versions of RDP (such as the one in W2K), it may be sufficient for your specific needs. In more demanding situations Blaze will provide better experience than RDP7, and significantly better than previous versions of RDP. As a rule, we recommend to all our customers to evaluate Blaze in their specific environment in order to make an informed decision.
