A standalone software solution called Ericom Blaze is being used by organizations of all sizes to successfully address RDP usability and performance challenges, reducing end-user complaints and lowering IT overhead. That is some nice publicity....
Especially with the banner on top on the page. By the way, not to bad talk about Ericom, but we actually gave it a try against our Windows 2008 R2 SP1 RDS farm....and we did not see any performance gain... But works well againt Windows 2000 Terminal Server :-) |

Blaze’s performance largely depends on: (1) The type of content displayed, such as animations, (2) network bandwidth and latency. As a general rule, the lower the bandwidth, the higher the latency, and the heavier the graphics – the more pronounced Blaze’s effect becomes.
Since Microsoft improved RDP performance in version 7 (the version that comes with WS08 R2) compared to previous versions of RDP (such as the one in W2K), it may be sufficient for your specific needs. In more demanding situations Blaze will provide better experience than RDP7, and significantly better than previous versions of RDP. As a rule, we recommend to all our customers to evaluate Blaze in their specific environment in order to make an informed decision. Adam (from Ericom) |
