A flaw in how Microsoft Windows Server 2008 calculates the time remaining until it must be activated could enable users to potentially run the server for years before activation. The defect is a consequence of Microsoft failing to assess its virtualization strategy, says an analyst. | ||

Sure, as long as they never wanted to patch or install any software that requires a reboot.

| obviousy some people use server 2008 in a test environment. Using this method will let you use windows 2008 without activating for a long time. |

You can already do this: when activation dialog appears, press F1 to start Help. Then type "command prompt" into search field and do the search, click "open command prompt" and there just type explorer.exe to start shell. That's it... :)
This works with Win 2003 too... |
