Windows Vista users' ongoing frustrations with graphics-card maker Nvidia have boiled over. A new Web site, NvidiaClassAction.info, created by IT consultant Dan Goldman, is gauging whether there is sufficient user interest to launch a class-action suit against Nvidia over the vendor's allegedly spotty Windows Vista support. | ||

I've got $2000 in parts coming today to build my new system with. Just so you can drool :) : Lian Li V2000B Plus II Case (This baby holds 20 drives :)) Intel "BadAxe2" Motherboard. Intel E6700 C2D. PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750B Quad Power Supply. eVGA GeForce 8800GTX. 2GB Crucial PC6400 RAM. Two Lite-on 20X DVD Burners with that funky labeling feature (I forget the name). #3, Wait till you see it run! It is a totally different experience apart from any previous architecture.

| The poor Nvidia performance is the main reason why I haven't upgraded to Vista. I'll give the 158.xx drivers a shot to see if CPUGuy is right about them being much better. |

#2 - LOL! Well, I'm running the 32bit version of Vista, so anything more would be a waste. The video card has 768MB of memory on it so, along with all the other mapped I/O I figure installing 4GB would probably only net me 2.5-2.8GB. #6 - Thanks :) Not until May 4th, but almost there :) #7 - Again, I hope he's right! BTW... This Intel BadAxe2 Motherboard is a pretty sweet piece of kit. Very well built, and a decent bundle of goodies in the box (round IDE and Floppy cables (UV at that), locking SATA cables (again, UV), and a really cool placard you can put on the inside cover of the case that has all the connectors, jumpers, sockets, etc... laid out and labeled. I'm happy to see Intel get serious about the Enthusiasts market. The current 'old' machine, which is a AMD-64x2 4800 with a GeForce 7800 will be come a dedicated game machine for games and everything else I have that isn't happy with Vista. The current machine fulfilling that duty, an AMD-64 3500, will most likely become my Windows Home Server machine. TL |

BTW... This GeForce 8800GTX is the biggest friggin' video card I have ever seen! I mean this thing is MONSTROUS!
Glad I got the V2000B Plus II. It would have never fit into my current case. TL |
