Wireless access is a key feature in Windows Vista, and it needs to work as reliably as possible for users. In the final version of Windows Vista, the default power setting for 802.11 wireless adapters was changed to “Maximum Performance” to offer seamless wireless access experience and solve connectivity issues with certain access points. Users and OEMs can change the setting value to deliver additional power savings, if they want to further extend the battery life. | ||

Well my laptop is now vistafied.
Last night, I had wireless working. Intel 3945 card. Worked pretty good until laptop went into standby. I had to reboot to get wireless access back. Vista is good in many ways. It's faster, more responsive, smoother. The popups for admin access all the time are a major suck though. I've had a few problems installing things... VS.NET 2005 SP1[Beta](Had to reboot) and SQL Express Management Studio SP2[CTP](Had to run as Administrator). But I had my DVD-ROM disappear on me until a reboot. And I had wireless disappear until a reboot. I think we need more up to date drivers and such. |
