Microsoft Corp. is scheduled Wednesday to unveil a new software strategy for small- and medium-sized business applications, according to a media report.
The move will intensify Microsoft's battle with SAP AG and Intuit Inc., the Wall Street Journal reported in its online edition. See Wall Street Journal story.
Microsoft is attempting to better focus its core products - Windows for server computers, its Office business programs and its management software - into a more cohesive package for smaller businesses, The Journal said.
Microsoft executives said the strategy attempts to make it easier to install and run Microsoft's products in businesses that often have less software expertise and limited budgets, The Journal said.
