Tecmo President Junji Nakamura took a few shots at Sony Computer Entertainment's next generation offerings earlier today during Tecmo's quarterly press briefing in Tokyo. Regarding SCE's push for the PlayStation 3, Nakamura said: "We don't feel the heat." This is in comparison to Microsoft's heated worldwide lobbying efforts for developers to develop product for the next generation Xbox system. | ||

Bungie has a staggering 2 games available for the Xbox. If I were them, I'd put their money where their mouth is.
Halcyon does it again. Superb market analysis, superb vision of the future of console gaming. You cannot predict what is going to happen in the next generation of gaming. Can't be done folks, remember that. If I were on the Xbox hardware development teams or working at SCE, I'd pack up shop. "They should put their money where their mouth is if they expect anyone to believe them." What exactly do you call losing money on every Xbox console we sell, devoting more R&D resources to the console than any other part of MS Game Studios, hiring 3000 people in the next year alone to work on the console and related games from the studio, ah... I'll stop there. We're not putting our money where our mouth is. That's what it is! Damn. When Bill Gates said: "We are not leaving this market. No ifs ands or buts, we're in console gaming to stay", he must've been kidding. All this money we've spent certainly isn't backing up our mouth. Having the world's most successful online gaming service, the world's most powerful game console (and the next generation will make it look like a garbage can), many of the best selling game franshises of all time signed on to the box, some of the best selling games of all time ONLY on the Xbox... yup... we just can't seem to back up our rhetoric. We're not putting our money where our mouth is, I gotta get to a meeting so I can make sure everyone understands that here. What we're doing is all worthless and is a total failure. Halcyon said so! Must be true. Microsoft sucks. Damn I work in a really worthless corporation. Now... to ensure that you don't come back with some crud like "My statement in Post #3 was referring to Tecmo"... Go add up what they've spent on developing their Xbox exclusive titles and the featuresets of all their games that only appear on the Xbox. What does it matter how many games they've made for it? They've made best selling games and have spent more money than they would have developing tons more titles individually. The cost of developing Halo and Halo 2 alone are staggering. Massive amounts of money spent on those games... I guess Bungie is crap too! They've only made two games! No one should believe that they can do it! Can someone other than you please explain to me what in the hell his point is? "Who do you work for?" Well the fact that you still haven't picked up on that demonstrates to me your pure ignorance. "Some crud? Even you noticed the flaw in your logic." Wow, way to spin it. You're telling me you've never talked about people not believing Microsoft? And that we should put our money where our mouth is to demonstrate facts contrary to what people believe? Weren't you just saying that the other day in the "MSN Search Runs Linux?" argument? Please, get over yourself. You know damn well you hold that sentiment and have expressed it before time and time again. My point stands and my argument stands whether talking about Tecmo or Microsoft, you bad mouth both and have made the same argument against both entities. "worthless tirade." At least I express my opinion or point clearly and defend such a position with factual information rather than rants and raves about how false the "Get the facts" campaign is which appears to be your only recourse. And even that you back up with no fact-based information whatsoever. If you have such a boner about that fact that Microsoft uses companies we sponsor and choose to do our research for us, you need to check out the few performance publications done in the Linux Journal and other *NIX based publications. They do the same thing. Of course we're going to put forth what best favors us. It's called: Marketing. Oh that's right, you already know that, you've been spewing it at me. So what is your point about Get The Facts? Oh that's right, you have none, once again. Back to worthless tirades... shall I quote some of your doozey one-liners with zero fact and no point or even remotely coherent idea? Or shall I refrain from further damaging your ActiveWin dignity? | Holiday Resets at retail stores like Best Buy and CompUSA - here are some facts - at least the ones my eyes see: X-Box is more prominently configured and features a lot more product of different types. At least two full rows and several stack-outs and aisle stands of various types. Many new products from MS and several third parties. All of the most exciting and anticipated titles and services seem to center around it. All this translates into momentum and reflects both MS committment and retail store recognition that consumers are interested and spending dollars on X-Box and related products. The X-Box MCE Extender is much anticipated - I heard three ofther Dads asking about it while making some recent Christmas gift purchases. Then there are the kids - a simple head count reflected a three to one ratio favoring X-Box over all others - just counting the times one has to say, "excuse me" when moving from one area to another. MS has grown X-Box well and just as they have all other areas - with a steady stream of products people want. |
