IMHO, These days they have to release the console versions first.
Otherwise the PC version gets ripped and repacked and distributed on warez sites, and sales are lost. Most people that have a PC and a console, when given the choice, would go for the PC version, because a PC has (on a good rig) better graphics/performance. I for one, fall into that category. Then a (large?) percentage of those people, will just get the ripped version for free off the net, and never pay a cent for the developers hard work. Gone are the days of simultaneous multi-platform releases. Anyone else notice this trend? |

#4 Totally true - sad, too!
That whole "Thou shalt not steal..." violation has messed us all up. Could you imagine what kind of games and systems developers would be able to fund if they actually got paid for each copy? Prices would be half of what they are now and we'd be able to play games like Halo 2 on our PC's right away. Maybe MS will extend its Live service to the PC and reverse the trend to some extent. |
