“WinZip 9.0 SR-1 is a maintenance release of WinZip 9.0. The changes involve general improvements to the WinZip code, bug fixes, and updates to error messages and to the Help text. The main new feature in this version of WinZip is that it displays caution messages in some situations, such as when you double-click on a .EXE file compressed within a Zip file, to warn that you are working with a file type that could potentially contain a virus. These caution messages can easily be turned off by WinZip users who frequently work with the file types involved.” | ||

Winzip has one feature that keeps me with it, and that's the ability to create self-extracting archives that I can pre-program the installation path and extraction options when I create it.
This allows me to create quick, on-the-fly, ready-made installers, patches, updates, fixes, etc... to the end-users I support. I have literally dozens of ready-made fixes for common problems on my service drive that I can quickly email with basic instructions, have them execute, and the problem is resolved quickly without so much as a phone call. Others may have this specific feature, but I'm not aware of it. And I'm not going to confuse 20,000 people with a .RAR file :) TL |

| That is a great point #3 - many people use this feature, but not nearly enough. |
