Microsoft Corp. today announced at COMDEX Las Vegas 2003 that as part of the company's coordinated anti-spam effort, its spam-filtering SmartScreen Technology will be deployed across Microsoft's e-mail platforms. Developed by Microsoft® Research, early versions of SmartScreen Technology have already been introduced in Outlook® 2003, MSN® 8 and Hotmail® and will soon be available in a new add-on for Exchange Server 2003 called Microsoft Exchange Intelligent Message Filter. | ||

Is this stuff based on bayesian filtering?
Honestly, that's the only thing I've found reliable against spammers. That's why I like PopFile. It's bayesian filtering adapts itself as needed, and it catches all the latest tricks. I'm running 99.8% accuracy right now. |

| TL, the Outlook 2003 filter is a Bayesian filter. It works quite well in my experience with the beta. They have also said that they are going to make the filter itself updateable via the officeupdate service, so the filter should adapt and improve as time goes along. |
