sphbecker, the IIS 6 Manager can administer IIS 5.1 (but only when IIS 6 Manager is running on the same Windows XP machine). It can also administer IIS 5.0 running on remote Windows 2000 machines. I don't have any NT 4.0 machines left to test, but I suspect it will still administer IIS 4.0 because the IIS 5.0 Manager in Windows 2000 could.
The only reason IIS 6 Manager installs side-by-side with the IIS 5.1 Manager is because of Windows File Protection. The IIS 5.1 Manager is part of the operating system, so it can only be updated by service pack or hotfix, it will overwrite any newer version during a "repair" of the OS (because any "newer files" which have not been installed with a digitally signed manifest are considered "corrupt files" during repair), and it can only be uninstalled by sysocmgr (the Add/Remove Windows Components program).
