MacMerc publishes a document from Apple describing the official dead-pixel policy for Apple's LCDs. The document distinguishes between always-on and always-off pixels and indicates that up to 4 always-on, 5 always-off or 8 combination anomalies are acceptable and do not warrant a replacement display | ||

Anyone have any good sites with data about the mac and the educational market? What are the facts and what does the future look like? Will Mac still be in the educational market in 10 years or will be long gone? |

| I don't see them making a comeback. Which is too bad. All the articles I've read on the is subject over the last two years or so outlined it as teachers vs. school board and parents. Those at the front line want the kids to use the Mac as a tool for their education. Somehow parents think that the kids are using the computer to learn computers, not a tools to learn about the subjects they're studying. I used Apple machines up until high school. I didn't go into shock and start convulsing because there was a different platform. And how stupid does your kid have to be that they can only figure out one platform? These are children, they tell the parents how it works. These are the same parents who buy Ford and Hyundai because they think they're good cars. Maybe we can sit back, watch and laugh at the results. Cash-strapped school boards buying up machines with a higher TCO and the only victims are the students. |
