Gates and one of America's top news anchors, Tom Brokaw, sat down at a South Dakota cafe for cappuccino - but both walked away without paying the bill. The cafe's owner later got a call from Gates' office asking whether he owed some money. The cafe insisted the cappuccinos, worth $3 each, were on the house. But Brokaw, a South Dakota native, thought otherwise and took care of the debt on Wednesday with a note that included two $20 bills. | ||

Journalistic integrity has been going down the toilet for about 10 years now, if not longer. We can go back to the rigging of GM truck tests on Nightline, through Whitewater and other scandals fabricated by the American Spectator, Fox News putting Bush's cousin on the air for the 2000 election cycle, and so on and so forth. It's not enough to just report, they have to make the news, or melodramatize it. slate.com is running a couple of stories regarding Stephen Glass and his escapades as well. The only thing that makes the NYTimes thing unique is that they came out and admitted to it. The AP publishes hundreds of stories per day, some are important... others are not. Activewin choose to post this, you choose to read it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. |
