#1 belto: Actually, the main culprit is not Microsoft, but it's spam generators. Microsoft doesn't sell your address to 3rd parties. You might want to do some more research before spewing false information.
#3 Testman: Yes, Exclusive filter with Safe list **DOES** stop you from getting spam. And if you knew how to properly set up your filter in hotmail, Hotmail will NOT put that spam in your junk mail. Do some research in the options panel of Hotmail my friend. RESEARCH
#4 NeoNinoo: Yes, it is practical. I have added ALL of my friends different email addresses to my safelist/contacts. And everytime I send an email to someone that is not in my contacts, Hotmail asks me if I want to add that address to my contacts so that it will allow incoming mail from them.
#8 Boola: You are 100% correct. In fact, I recommend that you set up email addresses similar to this: kv_8lh_eim@hotmail.com. Underscores and such will help avoid spam generators from generatiing your address.
BTW, Hotmail is free :-)
