Microsoft Corp. renewed an offer to sell to Liberty Media Corp. its 24 percent stake in unprofitable U.K. cable-TV operator Telewest Communications Plc.
Microsoft and subsidiaries Microsoft U.K. Cable Inc. and Microsoft Cable Partnership Holdings Inc. are giving Liberty, the cable company owned by billionaire John Malone, another 30 days to decide to buy the stock first offered in June, Microsoft said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Liberty chose not to take up the earlier offer, the filing said.
