Still trying to decide whether your enterprise development architecture should be based around Sun's Java or Microsoft's .NET? Perhaps you should be more worried about whether either of them is going to work at all. To date, around 70 percent of initial Java implementations have been unsuccessful, according to new research from Gartner Group. | ||

This is nonsensical.
They're saying 70% of all new projects fail. That's been well known for years in the project management circles, and it has little if nothing to do with language choice. |

#1 ... You're a computer expert and your whole comment is "java sucks"?!? Grow up! Either say that you're an immature child who knows nothing about programming and therefore has to resort to comments like "xxxxx sucks" or back up your comment with some useful information on "WHY" is sucks. And telling us that java is slow because an old jvm performed badly is on par with me saying windows sucks because windows 95 crashed a lot.
#3 Exactly. In project management circles a project failure is defined as a project that was not completed to schedule and/or budget and/or did not meet it's requirements. Therefore all of these projects could have been huge successes in the market place but if they ended up over budget they would be marked as failures. As they omit what Gartner Group consider a failure it's hard to draw any conclusive judgments on this mythical "70%". |

Rad, what the heck are you talking about? The .NET Framework wasn't coded well (how do you know, have you seen it?) The .NET Framework didn't implement the CLI spec well?....
Your post really doesn't make much sense. |

#10 I beg to differ and fairly much as performance measuring tool will disagree with you on that point.
#12 Java is unstable unless you write near-perfect code.... How much java code HAVE you written? What a joke, stick to VB. And for the 50 billionth time Java and JavaScript have absolutely nothing in common with the exception of sharing the same first 4 characters in their names! JavaScript in not the most useful part of Java. I really do wish people knew what they were talking about rather than saying everything sucks. Please learn something about Java rather than spreading FUD about it. #13 No, not everyone who uses Java says it's slow and bloated and annoying. Absolutely perfect for all the servlets I've written. Bloated? WTF?!? Just because it provides you with so many classes to begin with doesn't mean you have to include them! |
