Microsoft has published a list of applications that will need extra configuration after its Windows XP Service Pack Two (SP2) is installed. Nearly 50 applications will need fixes, primarily due to the new firewall which blocks specific ports. Some of Microsoft's own software is also showing problems with the new code. A full list of known applications that will need work is on the Microsoft Knowledge Base website here. | ||

If developpers were developping applications correctly at the first place, they would'nt be any problem. |

| I was more than a bit surprised to learn that Symantec didn't bother to update System Works 2002 through 2004 such that Windows Security Center is aware of its information. Sad. Symantec’s WinFax Pro 10.02 broke also. I presume that the "rapid speed" you get from cheap outsourcing may have something to do with the lack of downloadable Symantec product updates. Or, maybe Symantec is just asleep at the wheel and someone needs to wake them up. |
